    Several times they held meeting but most of them was failure to decide their platform and identify a nominee. Finally, John C. Breckenridge was nominated from Southern Democratic, who is a supporter of slavery and states' rights while Stephen A. Douglas was not in favor to acquire pro-slavery platform and nominated from Northern Democratic.
