    The correct answer is D. The Makah

    Marine mammals and various fish were the staple food in the early Makah diet and even today remains the same. Halibut were caught and being smoked or dried and stored in large quantities for it to be used in the winter. There were various bottom fish which were caught during the year. Harbor seals and porpoise were eaten while smoked or fresh and their skin cured and was used for whaling floats. Seal blubber which was rendered to oil and was used in every meal as a condiment.
