The immigration and the Naturalization Act abolished the earlier quota system that was based on national origin as well as the establishment of new immigration policies that was based on reuniting immigrant families and also attracting the skilled labor to the United States. The policies that were put in place were going to change the demographic makeup of the American population since the immigrants that were entering America under the new legislation n Asia, Africa as well as the Latin America.
