    Here are some of the most important beliefs of the Progressive Party during the early 20th century:

    1) 8 hour work day - Progressives felt that the current work system in the US, which included working upwards of 10 hours, drained the American citizens and allowed for little time with their families.

    2) Minimum wage - This standard amount of payment would make it so that workers would be able to know their wages beforehand. Along with this, it was hoped that this wage would be the standard for a living wage.

    3) Graduated income tax - This essentially means that individuals who make more money should have to pay a higher tax rate than those who make less money.
