Now that we have learned about the three main branches of ethical theory (consequentialism, nonconsequentialism, and virtue ethics), which approach would you want a President of the United States to excel at in his or her own life and work? Why do you think it is more important for a President to live in accordance with this approach to ethics as opposed to the other two?

    Explanation:

    I would argue that the President of the United States should particularly excel at consequentialist ethics. This perspective of ethics judges the ethical quality of a situation or decision based on how good or bad the consequences of those actions are. I believe that this is the approach the President should take because he is the leader of a whole nation of people. This means that, whatever decision he makes, the consequences are likely to affect the whole population of the country. Therefore, it is imperative that he pays attention to these.
