Native Americans provided fur pelts to French and Dutch traders. The Europeans gave Native Americans manufactured goods, like cloth, iron cookware, guns and tools. The fur trade in the end, had a negative effect on the Native Americans. The French made an alliance with the Iroquois, and Dutch made an alliance with the Hurons. Yet, before the Hurons became trading partners with the French, the Iroquois, and Hurons were enemies.
