Life in Russia in the early 1900s was extremely repulsive, especially for the peasants. The conditions the peasants lived in were difficult, poor and unhygienic.

Russia was grasped by the poverty and economic degradation in the early 1900s. This is mainly because of the incompetent and foolish decisions of the Tsars. Moreover, many people were affected by starvation, lack of basic necessities. The war with France and Napoleon in the previous century also had a drastic affect on the Russian empire.

Moreover, their unwelcoming foreign policy made it difficult for the Russian people to prosper economically.
