    After the Seventh Regiment Cavalry gathered and rounded up over 300 Sioux at Wounded Knee Fort, an attempt at disarming them led ultimately to the massacre of more than 300 Sioux. Also about 40 whites died during the incident.

    A deaf American Indian, confused by the orders from the soldiers, refused to follow orders thus starting the incident which ultimately would cost the lives of over 350 people, both Sioux and whites.
