    It was called the Operation overload, a code name of the Battle of Normandy. It was an operation that launched the invasion of western Europe, launched on June 6, 1944 which provided the springboard from which all the forces from the U. S., Britain, Poland, Canada and France could liberate western Europe from German occupation before they would bring to an end to the Nazi Reich.
