Bartolome de Las Casas was a Spanish antiquarian, cleric, religious administrator and preacher toward the West Indies. His perception of Spanish colonization of the West Indies presented him to the outrages submitted by the pilgrims against the locals. The Spanish pioneers trusted it was important to utilize brutality and oppress the locals with a specific end goal to usher them into human progress. Then again, Bartolome battled against this mindset both at home and locally inside the West.
