The Spanish returned Oge and his fellow freedman back toe Blanchelande. Then he was executed by having his body broken on the wheel on February 6, 1791 in the public square. Afterwards more of his fellow freemen were also punished for their part in the revolution. Today Oge is considered a symbol of the injustices imposed on free men of color during the colonial period.
