Dwight Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States was honored at 200 SE 4th St. Abilene, Kansas, that is known as the Dwight Eisenhower Presidential Library. This is now a world-class research facility, honoring President Eisenhower in his hometown of Abilene, Kansas. During the electoral race, Richard Nixon was his running mate as Vice President.

The main reason for the creation of the Eisenhower Library was to honor him as World War II came to an end. The Eisenhower Foundation was created in 1945 in order to purchase his childhood home in order for the Library and Museum to be built in the same property. Just 7 years later, on June 22nd, 1947 was opened to the public.

The Dwight Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home is the final resting place of the 34th President of the United States of America.
