The effect of the stalemate on North Korea and South Korea was that the tensions between these 'two countries' went on increasing.

    Explanation:

The intention of the then North Korean regime to bring South Korea under their control and convert it into a communist country culminated in a war between the two countries back in 1950. This war lasted for around 3 long years and ended with a stalemate between the two countries. This stalemate not only slowed down the progress of the region but also increased the tensions between the two countries.
