    The Munich agreement (September 30, 1938) permitted Nazi Germany's annexation of parts of Czechoslovakia, mainly inhabited by German speakers (" Sudetenland ").

    And even before that, in May 1938 Hitler and his generals were planning the occupation of Czechoslovakia. Neither France nor Britain were prepared to defend this country.
