What percent of Mexico's population is pure Spanish today? Unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to find out what the official demographic statistics are regarding to race in Mexico. The government keeps specific details about race secret and its census publicly only uses the broader term "light-skinned" to refer to Mexicans of predominantly European ancestry. According to the 2010 census, 47% of Mexicans identify as "white", that is to say 56 million but it is so far impossible to determine the degree of Spanish European heritage of the respondents.

What percent is mixed? The answer is virtually the same, with the exception that many respondents to the 2010 census declined to specify their answer and the category "mestizos" was altogether absent from the census. 30% (37,300,000 million) defined themselves as "unspecified" which most likely means mestizos as that category was absent from the questions.

What percent is pure Aztec? The question is incorrectly posed. Pre-Columbian Mexico was home to several indigenous peoples. The Aztec and the Mayans were predominant but many other indigenous groups existed and still exist today. Concerning "pure Aztecs", the 2000 census yielded a figure of 2,445,969 Aztecs (Speakers of the Nahuatl language) living in Mexico today.
