Great Britain taxes them on everything, especially tea in which they revolted and wanted independence

The founding fathers wanted to have a land where no one was persecuted for their different religious views. They didn't want to be taxed on mostly everything. Tea being a big factor. They also wanted to gain independence and give birth to a nation that rules not under a monarch and with term limits.
