In what way did Quakers promote equality for women

Women were allowed to preach in their societies. They also believe that women were equal spiritually. Many women became preachers and writers who were defended by men. This gave them an active role in society. During the Restoration, however, this began to decline but women still asserted themselves in Quaker society.
