    Both the Glorious Revolution and the English Bill of Rights supported the idea that 1. government should respect citizens' rights. Citizens are the majority of the population in one's country, so it's a good thing for kings and governments to respect them so as to avoid a revolution or a coup. Kings cannot be violently overthrown (Glorious revolution is also known as Bloodless revolution, so no violence there), the revolution and the Bill of rights have nothing to do with the Americans, and the ruler cannot have absolute power if there is a government.
