William the Conqueror won the Battle of Hastings in 1066 against Harold the King of England. William was much better prepared for the invasion as he could calmly get ready in Normandy while Harold was much more busy at that time. It gave the Conqueror a big advantage in terms of tactics. William also had a social and religious support, good army and better weapons. It was also lucky for him that Harold had made some crucial mistakes.
