Given that Germany was defeated by the Allies in World War I, which inference can be drawn from the maps about Eastern Europe in the post-World War II or Cold War period? The importance of capitalism in Europe would increase. The Soviet Union's sphere of influence in Eastern Europe would expand. The Soviet Union's sphere of influence in Western Europe would expand. The importance of socialism in Europe would increase.

    If I understand this correct, the answer would be, the Communists got a lot of control over eastern bloc countries, so yes the Soviet unions sphere of control gained all over Europe, and throughout the world. Hell they had control 90 miles away from the mainland Us.
