Among the methods and policies that were implemented by the United States in order to limit the sphere of influence of the Soviet Union across other countries were the Truman Doctrine and the Marshall Plan. The Truman Doctrine states that the United States must fund those nations fighting against communism while the Marshall Plan grants financial aid for the rebuilding of countries after the world war.
