    English immigrants are people who came from British and settled in U. S during the Civil War. Approximately 1.5 million UK people migrated to United States after Civil War.

    Low land price and shortage in labors made a way for the British to settle in America. They started their occupations as farmers, weavers, blacksmiths, tailors, masons and shoemakers.

    The migrated British people were skilled or semi-skilled laborers, so they got many job opportunities in the factories. Many of them became very successful business owners too.
