The war of 1812 was fought between the united states and the united kingdom. It was mainly fought the United States, Canada, and on the high seas. Engagements were fought in the Old Southwest (Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, and Mississippi), and the Old Northwest (embracing Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin) it was also fought in Coastal Maine and the Chesapeake.
