Minh was the founder of the Communist Party of North Vietnam (formally called the Democratic Republic of Vietnam). In addition, between the years 1945 and 1955 was its prime minister and later the president, between the years 1955 and 1969.
Notably, during his rule, he established a socialist regime aligned with the Soviet Union, promoted a profound agrarian reform and was in favor of the unification of North Vietnam with the South Vietnam.
