    Explanation:

    After his surrender at the Battle of Coleto Creek, he along with his men were captured by mexican troops, taken to Goliad and held in Fort Defiance, were they thought they would be taken as prisoners. However, they were all executed with Fannin being the last one to be killed, after watching all his soldiers die in the infamous "Goliad Massacre", further cementing texan fervour towards revolution.
