    The message in the quote from Martin Luther King is that it is acceptable to break the law if the consequences are to show the community that the law is unjust. A good example of this is the old pass laws in South Africa. African people were not allowed into the white areas or the cities without "permission". Anyone caught without a passbook would end up in jail. According to Luther King's Quote, it is acceptable to break this law and go to jail because it is actually an act of civil disobedience that highlights the unjustness of the passbook law
