What similarity can be drawn between state and national governments? Both have three branches of government and a constitution. Neither uses any form of direct democracy. Both have constitutions that are difficult to change. Both have the ability to raise and control a military.

    Both the state and national governments have three branches of government and a constitution. They are made up of an executive, a legislative, and judicial branches of government.
