Tarik - ibn-Zizad or Tariq bin Ziyad_ The Conqueror of Spain, was the leader of the North African mercenaries that invaded Spain in 711 AD. He was one of the greatest commanders of medieval period. He entered Spain along with a small force by sea. While reaching Spain, he ordered his forces to burn your ships which was fallowed instantly despite huge army of the opponents ready to attack them as he had a great faith in God and strong determination to fight.

The forces of King Roderic of Spain and Tariq ibn ziyad met in the battle field of Guadalete in which king Roderic was defeated and killed. In this way Muslims established their rule in Spain and ruled Spain for more than 750 years (711 AD to 1492 AD).
