The anti-imperialists oppose U. S. imperialism for several reasons. They said it showed disloyalty and was a crime. In addition, they opposed to the concept of individual freedom and because of the isolationist stance of the US. The anti-imperialists also opposed to expansion because they believed that this would constrain the abandonment of American ideals of self-government and non-intervention
