Schools do teach students what is needed for practical life.

    such as:

Ratio in maths is needed for proportional measurements. For example baking a cake, we need eggs and flour. so, the proportion of eggs to flour is 2:20.

Biology delves deep and teaches us how living things react towards their environment and even teaches us about their organs functioning.

Physics is needed to know about different laws that apply around us. electrostatics, for example, teaches us about electric charges. for example: Hair strands repel each other when we comb our hair because they gain the same charge (negative charge) so they repel each other.

geography teaches us about our world, land features and countries. It is vital to know as well.

Yes, school does teach us the necessary parts we need in our practical life. However, schools might not show us how to apply them in practical life.
