How did the depression from 1893 to 1897 affect the american drive toward imperialism?

    Due to the economic restrictions that arose as a result of the depression in the late 1800s, it was clear that the drive towards imperialism was forced to be minimized given the lack of resources and capital to be able to continue the westward expansion as had been occurring.
