What attracted immigrants, farmers, and african americans to the cities of the northeast and midwest in the late 1800s and 1900?

    Immigrants - cities were cheaper and more convenient places to live

    farmers - farm laborers decreased

    african americans - same as the farmers and also because of the racism in the south that had kicked them out
