This type of factory and mill was common in the american south at the start of the 20th century, mainly for the area's availability of cheap labor and plentiful natural resources.

    Cotton mill?

    Was the most common source of production then and was cheap having slave work there. Cotton was the natural resource in the land of the south, and was very plentiful.
