What can you infer is Churchill's main reason for supporting the war?

    In 1938, the UK signed an agreement with Germany to let them take parts of Czechoslovakia. Churchill was fiercely opposed to this policy, and thought appeasing Germany would only make Germany more aggressive. He was proved right 1940, when Germany invaded France. Thus, Churchill thought that war was the only way to stop further German expansion.
