Describe how Roosevelt and Taft disagreed on conservation issues

The biggest disagreement between Taft and Teddy Roosevelt in terms of conservation is the method used to accomplish this goal.

Both men were advocates of conservation. However, as president, Teddy Roosevelt favored using executive orders to pass conservation laws. An executive order is a legislative act (aka law) that does not need the approval of Congress to be implemented into American society. Taft, on the other hand, felt that conservation laws were ones that should be passed by Congress. His refusal to use the executive order as a means to conserve natural resources represents the most significant difference between these two president.
