    C. Mthethwa

    Explanation:

Shaka Zulu is the best known historic figure from the southern part of Africa. He is best known as ruthless leader and warrior. Shaka Zulu came on the throne of the Zulus after the assassination of Dingiswayo. He became an ally with the Mthethwa empire and together they run the same policies.

Initially, Shaka Zulu had the tendency to be more defensive when it came to military actions and this was because he needed time to strengthen his army and in meantime to stop the raids from north. Because of this he often used diplomatic means. Once the Zulu army became strong enough though Shaka changed his tactics. He then became the one that attacks the others, and he is widely considered to be heavily responsible for the Mefecane period, a period in which Southern Africa became depopulated because of constant wars and genocides mostly caused by the Zulus.
