Why do you think the north recovered more quickly from the war then the south

The North recovered faster than the South (from the war) because of its economic advantages over the southern states. The North was able to build up their industries quicker and were able to create more factories than the South even had. As well as the fact that there were more people who lived in the North, which gave them the advantage of building up their armies.
