The correct answer is A. After the fall of Khmer Rouge, the government of Cambodia became communist.

    Explanation:

Democratic Kampuchea was the official name of Cambodia under the Maoist regime of Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge party between 1975 and 1979.

During this period, one million Cambodians died due to famines, epidemics and the policy of repression of the Pol Pot regime. It is estimated that up to about a quarter of the population died during what is known as the Cambodian genocide, a period that did not end until the Vietnamese invasion and the proclamation of the People's Republic of Kampuchea.

The period ended with the Vietnamese invasion through a war that lasted 17 days between December 1978 and January 1979 and the entry into hiding of Pol Pot and his people. After the Vietnamese invasion a state known as the People's Republic of Kampuchea was created, with a de facto government with support from Vietnam. This state would survive until 1992 with the fall of the Marxist government after having gone through a transition in which this country came to change its name to the State of Cambodia in 1989.
