The name India is derived from Indus, which originates from the Old Persian word Hindu.

It might be said that India got its name because it is a derivation form Indus which is derived from the Old Persian word Hindu that is associated with the river Sindhu or Indus The term Indias is translated as " The people of the Indus".
over the years, the term mutated many times until we get the name we use today.
