    The Paleolithic era is defined by the appearance and development of the earliest cultures to use stone tools. The Stone Age as a larger category is divided into three eras: the Paleolithic, the oldest Stone Age; the Mesolithic, or middle Stone Age; and the Neolithic, or new Stone Age.

    The stone age is divided into 3 periods and the longest is the Paleolithic age. It lasted till around 10,000 B. C. Besides making tools and weapons, the early humans who lived in period had many other important accomplishments. They learned to control and use fire; they made artificial shelters from branches; and they used needles to sew animal skins together. In addition, they had ritual barriers of their dead.
