How did the korean war change the course of the cold war

    The tension came to a head in Korea. Overshadowed by world war 2, the Korean war is often called the forgotten war, though like vietnam it was part of a larger cold war struggle to extinguish communism. In 1950, North Korean communist troops invaded South Korea, which was an american ally.
