The principles of Confucius were based on the traditions of ancient China. The philosopher believed that to govern a territory, he should choose the citizen with more virtues, that is, more loyalty, charity, kindness, among others. However, we know that historically the rulers were not chosen on the basis of these characteristics but by a monarchical system where the ruler was the son of the previous ruler and his moral and ethical values were not considered. This is also not considered in democratic countries that have direct elections, much less in countries that live under dictatorial rule.

In short, Confucius' philosophy was based on human rights and failed to establish a state based on it because the states grew in search of wealth and sovereignty.
