The fire bombing of tokyo:
The Tokyo Bombing was a sequence of firebombing air attacks by Army Air Force of the U. S. during World War II's Pacific campaigns. Mission Meetinghouse, undertaken in the night of 9-10 March 1945, is considered to be the sole most devastating bombing campaign in recorded history.
Tokyo's firebombing was intended to terrorize and subdue the Japanese. It has also been seen as revenge for the assaults on Pearl Harbour and the inhumane treatment of Allied war prisoners.
