First, outline what you observe as being defining features of the English and French governments over the course of Unit One. Features to consider would be the use and distribution of power, relationship with religion, and how the government changed over the course of the 1400's to the 1700's. Remember with the portfolios you are always trying to show off as much of your historical understanding as possible.

    The two governments were monarchical. While England transformed into a democratic monarchy, the french people conducted a revolution in the 18th century and established a republic with a written constitution.

    During the eras of absolute monarchy, the king or queen word were absolute and final. The two countries had parliaments made of nobles.
