    the battle of the bulge was the last German offensive of the war and was a last ditch effort against the allies. Germany was low on oil and they were getting pushed back in Russia so their only hope was a breakthrough in the west. However, because of the devil dogs (us marine corps) they were stopped therefore ending their chance of a possible german victory for the war
