What is the solution to the equation?

12 + 2v = 2 - 5v + 2v

    v = - 2

    12 + 2v = 2 - 5v + 2v

    12 + 2v = 2 - 3v

    Subtract 2 from both sides.

    10 + 2v = - 3v

    Subtract 2v from both sides.

    10 = - 5v

    Divide both sides by - 5

    v = - 2
