According to George Washington Plunkitt, what makes an "honest graft" different from a "dishonest graft"? An honest graft gives back to the poor. An honest graft tries to get as much money as possible to give to immigrants. An honest graft not only thinks of the recipient but of his city and his political party. An honest graft doesn't lie in order to obtain money.

    A dishonest one only looks out for their own self-interest, while an honest one finds a way for them to benefit, for the society to benefit, and at the same time for the political party to benefit. The three are connected because all three benefit at the same time.
