What was the differences between the Virginia plan and the New Jersey plan

The difference between these two plans was that the Virginia Plan wanted representation in Congress to be determined by state population (which would favor the larger states) and the New Jersey Plan wanted representation to be set at a certain number of people per state (which would favor the smaller states). The Connecticut Compromise brought these two plans together.
