How was china able to have such a great influence on its neighbors during the middle ages?

    China had the most developed economic system and was culturally the most developed country. Its religion was also widely accepted and all surrounding countries looked up to China because of these cultural and religious achievements. For example, most of the area adopted their writing to their own language because they didn't have their own system of writing.
