Most anthropologists believe that the ancestors of the native peoples of North, Central and South America came from Asia across the land bridge across the straits of the Bering Sea in what is now Alaska when the sea level was lower, up to about 25-30,000 years ago and then migrated down gradually right to the southern tip of South America in Tierra del Fuego.
